Jason M. Palmer
J. Palmer Performance Horses
Jason M. Palmer has spent most of his life dedicated to the horse industry. Starting out in 4-H at the age of ten, that association began a lifelong massive desire to master the art of horsemanship. After accomplishing all that was available in a short time, he graduated to the American Quarter Horse Association at age eleven. That season would last seven years while showing horses in Halter, English Pleasure, English Equitation, Western Pleasure, and Western Horsemanship.
Over the next three years of showing horses, multiple circuit championships and year end championships, a couple of World Championship qualifiers were added to his accomplishments.
A New Career at 14
By the early age of fourteen, Jason also ventured into the racehorse industry where he spent ten glorious years chasing his passion of becoming the greatest jockey to ever live. Multiple wins, including Best Rider of the Meet and Best Rider of the Year built his confidence to become one of the top jockeys in the industry.
After forced retirement from being a jockey, Jason devoted all his energy and time into training performance horses on the track, as well as in the arena with barrels and reining horses.
As a race trainer, he has prepared fourteen two-year-olds for the Triple Crown of Quarter Horses, several in the top three. Each one of them earned their right to be at the toughest races in the world. Most of them won attractive purses and handsome lifetime earnings. He has coached several riders and their horses to excel in barrel racing as well, becoming fierce competitors in their regions.
After mastering horsemanship in these arenas, Jason grew curious about the reining industry and took on the challenge of learning it part time. His first powerful student– his mom– won a clean sweep at the National Finals in all three events thanks to his coaching. This accomplishment had never been done before nor since.
Jason is currently a full time trainer for Performance Horses, his business in Southern Utah . He trains in reining, barrel racing, and on the track.
Conservatively, Jason has ridden over 10,000 horses over his career. Jason discovered through all the lessons of horsemanship that he also excelled in the personal mentorship and life coaching realm. Here he continues to propel clients into a higher level of life, learning and transformation.
